Schist Stone is softer than granite and basalt, so it is hard to cut and cannot provide a detailed edge like granite or marble. The light-colored igneous rock can be used in both interior and exterior wall and floor application projects.

For daily cleaning, you can use mild dish detergent and a microfiber cloth or soft sponge. Avoid using abrasive cleaners and harsh/acidic chemicals on schist. If you're dealing with a stubborn stain, be sure to clean the area with water and mild dish soap, then blot excess moisture up.

Of Course not! Schist is metamorphic and granite is igneous. Some types of schist are even categorized as granite, which makes it even harder to tell the difference.
